The children go on an annual family trip to the William Miller Sperry Observatory on the Cranford campus of Union county College.  The Amateur Astronomers, led by Ann Anderson gives the children a very informative presentation of the solar system.  The children get to look out through the reflector telescope to view Mars and Saturn and different star constellations.  The children in this class know the solar system is made up of eight planets, (nine including Pluto) and the awesome nature of the universe is within the grasp of their understanding.
